Mirrors

A series of carved & gilded mirrors inspired by the ancient symbol of the Ouroboros.

The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol of a snake biting or devouring its tail. First seen in ancient Egypt, the ouroboros is often interpreted as a symbol of renewal and the endless cycle of life, death and rebirth. The snake is a creature that has been both worshipped and persecuted throughout history. Its dualistic nature and ability to shed its skin lends itself to medical iconography and is still seen wrapped around UK medic alerts today.
